On the Blackboard

"I will try to post every day." "I will try to post every day." "I will try to post every day." "I will try to post every day." "I will try to post every day." "I will try to post every day." "I will try to post every day." "I will try to post every day." "I will try to post every day." "I will try to post every day." "I will try to post every day." "I will try to post every day."

But, man, it's tough.

OK, PublicSchoolDad, if you are not going to post then I am going to use your pulpit for my own venting today: I hereby announce that I find the new WalMart back-to-school ads terribly offensive.

Version A is fine: a mother laments that she cannot be at school to fight her son's battles so she does the best she can to support him by going to WalMart and buying him a laptop computer.

The trouble is with Version B: a mother laments that she cannot be at school to fight her daughter's battles so she does the best she can to support her by going to WalMart and buying her ... [wait for it] ... new clothes.

Perhaps said daughter attends the Harrold school district and the new clothing included a bullet-proof vest. In that case, I humbly retract my indignation. Otherwise, the indignation stands.
